Birthday Time at Thyme!
Thyme Restaurant on Long Island

A while back I found a website called dininglongisland and they have a section on waterfront restaurants.  Since then, it's been my go-to resource when choosing where to eat out there.  I love dining by the water!  We considered selecting a place on the 'nautical mile,' a stretch of waterfront in Freeport that's home to dozens of casual bars and eateries on the water.  But, ultimately an amazing menu on a lake won out over clams and beer on the ocean.  The food offerings at Thyme were too good to pass up!

My beautiful bestie, Denise, and hubs, Craig, arrived early to scope out the perfect table and stake their claim with a bouquet of flowers and giant birthday balloons tied to the railing.  By the time Brian and I joined them, we could relax with them at the bar for a while and sip the house special White Cosmo cocktail.  I may have sipped a few too many of those over the course of the evening.  So good!

Dinner on the outdoor deck overlooking the water was everything we could hope for.  After a long stretch of miserably hot and humid weather, we caught a break on Saturday evening.  It was such a perfect night to dine outdoors that I would have been absolutely miserable if I'd been inside.  More cocktails, wine, great service, excellent food and the people I love.  What more can anyone ask on their birthday!  And, as for Thyme, special celebration or not, their good cooking and relaxed elegance are definitely worth a return visit.
