OK, I'll be the first to admit that I didn't want to let go of summer. Even while my fellow bloggers claimed to detect a late August nip in the air and began musing about fall recipes and sweaters and boots, I clung to summer. New York was still hot, we still had lots of summer vacation plans and I'd waited far too long for my beloved summer to let go so easily.
Even after Labor Day weekend, the unofficial end of summer around here, I wasn't quite feeling autumnal. The weather was still much too warm to even fantasize about sweaters and boots and there weren't any pumpkins in the market yet and we technically still had a couple of more weeks.
But I went shopping today and there they were. The first pumpkins in the market. Cooking pumpkins and those adorable little gourds. But...but...but... oh, I give up. It's fall!!!
I love fall! I love pumpkins! I love sweaters and boots! I love colorful leaves! I love it!!! Goodbye summer. I'll miss you. See you next year!
I hope you all know that there's going to be an apple and pumpkin onslaught around here. In fact, it maybe starting tomorrow. Just sayin'.
